Does Indian judicial need to be reformed?

If justice is not carried out right away timely, then even if it is carried out later it is not really justice. In order to provide speedy and quality justice accessible to the ordinary citizens, there is urgent need to reform our judicial system. India's over 1,000 fast track courts, set up for moving the wheels of justice faster, but a whopping 32 million cases are still pending across the country. 65,661 cases were pending in the Supreme Court and 4,434,191 cases were pending in all the 21 high courts. Delay in disposal of cases affects all sections of society.
Areas of the judicial reform often include; codification of law instead of common law, moving from an inquisitorial system to an adversarial system, establishing stronger judicial independence with judicial councils or changes to appointment procedure, establishing mandatory retirement age for judges or enhancing independence of prosecution.
