Wasim Jaffer's return to bolster Mumbai against Tamil Nadu.

Mumbai not going as favourites into a Ranji Trophy game has been the norm in recent times. It won't be any different this time too when they meet Tamil Nadu in their Group A tie in Chennai beginning on Wednesday.
They were back to their poor form in their last game, against a lowly Madhya Pradesh at the Wankhede. They were out batted and out bowled by Devendra Bundela's outfit to concede the first innings points.

Reports of a conflict in the dressing room too has emerged between captain Suryakumar Yadav and pacer Shardul Thakur. However, it is learnt that the Mumbai Cricket Association's management intervention might have cooled off the conflict.

There is positive news for Mumbai too as their most experienced batsman Wasim Jaffer is back for this game. The opener had injured his hand in the season's opening match while taking catch at the slips. Following his injury, he missed three games before making his return.

Placed at the third position in the points table, Mumbai would look to get the better of a strong Tamil Nadu side.

The Ramaswamy Prasanna-led side too have had a mixed season with two wins, one defeat and three draws.

Teams (from): Tamil Nadu: R Prasanna (Captain), U Sushil, Aushik Srinivas, Kaushik Gandhi, Dinesh Karthik, Abhinav Mukund, Malolan Rangarajan, Vijay Shankar, J Kaushik, Baba Aparajith, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Baba Indrajith, N Mohammed, T Natrajan, Shahrukh Khan

Mumbai: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Wasim Jaffer, Aditya Tare, Akhil Herwadkar, Siddhesh Lad, Sarfaraz Khan, Iqbal Abdullah, Vishal Dabholkar, Shardul Thakur, Tusshar Deshpande, Akshay Girap, Shrideep Mangela, Shreyas Iyer, Sufiyan Shaikh, Badre Alam
